Motmot @ Blickfang Stuttgart

Nun ist es endlich soweit! Vom Freitag, den 12.03 – So, den 14.03. nimmt Motmot erstmals an der Designmesse Blickfang in Stuttgart teil. Dies ist Motmots erste Deutschlandreise. Wir sind schon gespannt und hoffen, dass unser etwas oft schräge Humor auch in Stuttgart gut ankommt. Mehr Informationen zur Designmesse gibt es auf www.blickfang.com!

Finally, we are packed and ready to go to the international designfair: Blickfang. Visit us from Friday, March 12 until Sunday, March 14 at the Liederhalle in Stuttgart, Germany. New Motmot T-Shirt: I8NY

Jetzt gibt es Chilla, den Gorilla auch als Motmot T-Shirt. Ursprünglich im Minicomic Cheetahs Never Win von Steve Reeder veröffentlicht, dann als Wandmalerei in der Ausstellung WIR WOHNEN gezeigt und jetzt als T-Shirt im Motmot Shop erhältlich. Die Ausstellung kann übrigens noch bis zum 13.03.2010 im Kunstraum Niederösterreich in Wien besucht werden.

Out now: Chilla the Gorilla available as Motmot T-Shirt. First the drawing was published by Steve in the mini-comic Cheetahs Never Win, then it was shown at the art exhibit WIR WOHNEN at Kunstraum Niederösterreich in Vienna and now it is available as t-shirt at the Motmot Shop. The WIR WOHNEN exhibit runs until March 13, 2010, so you still have time to check it out!

Los Angeles Dodgeball meets Motmot

We met the friendly guys and girls from the Los Angeles Dodgeball Society earlier this year at the Motmot Shop in Vienna. Now they are all wearing Motmot T-Shirts. On our vacation in Los Angeles we went to their training session and shot this foto. For more fun pictures go to the Motmot Flickr Page. Steve is also designing their official L.A. Dogdgeball T-Shirt. I think Inky will make it on there.

Die Los Angeles Dodgeball Society hat den Motmot Shop in Wien entdeckt und trägt jetzt Motmot T-Shirts. Bei unserem West Coast Aufenthalt im Januar haben wir diese Fotos während des Trainings geknipst. Mehr Eindrücke dazu findet ihr auf der  Motmot Flickr Page. Das T steht hier für T-Shirt. In diesem Siebdruck-Workshop kannst du deinen selbst kreierten Love & Peace Entwurf oder witzige bzw. wichtige Sprüche auf T-Shirts drucken und es allen zeigen. Do-It-Yourself
Am Montag, den 1. März geben wir um 18 Uhr im Joanneum in Graz in der Abteilung Informationsdesign auf Einladung von monochrom eine Vorlesung zum Thema Do-It-Yourself Poster Design, die für alle Interessierten zugänglich ist. Der Eintritt ist frei! Anschließend gibt es am 2. März einen ganztägigen Siebdruck-Workshop, wo Studenten und Studentinnen der Klasse Informationsdesign T-Shirts entwerfen und siebdrucken.

Gestalte mit Hilfe der Open-Source-Programme SCRIBUS und THE GIMP einen Flyer für eine Veranstaltung deiner Wahl. Besonderes Augenmerk legen wir auf Gestaltungsmerkmale, Farb- und Schriftwahl. Voraussetzungen für diesen Kurs sind ein sicherer Umgang mit dem Computer und viele frische Ideen. Motmot Shop opens February 16!

Hello everybody! We made it back from our road trip to Arizona. The Motmot Shop will be open for business starting February 16 from noon to 7 pm. What you see in the picture is a Saguaro Cactus. They grow in the Arizona desert around Tucson. In the Saguaro National Park you find the biggest and oldest Saguaro Cacti. Only after 75 years a Saguaro grows its first arm. This one is probably over 150 years old. If you look closer you see lots of holes, woodpeckers and owls live there. Now I know how Charles Schulz got his idea to make Spike’s home - Snoopy’s brother - a Saguaro Cactus.

Hallo! Wir sind zurück von unserer Reise in die Wüste Arizonas. Der Motmot Shop öffnet mit dem 16. Februar wieder seine Türen. Die Zeiten sind wie immer 12 - 19 Uhr. Der Kaktus im Bild ist ein Saguaro. Diese Kakteenart wächst um Tucson in Arizona. Im Saguaro Nationalpark finden sich die ältesten und größten Kakteen. Erst nach 75 Jahren bekommt ein Saguro seinen ersten Arm. Unser Exemplar hier ist wahrscheinlich 150 Jahre und älter. Beim genaueren Hinsehen sind Löcher zu entdecken, wo Spechte und Eulen hausen. Damit erklärt sich auch, wie Charles Schulz auf die Idee kam, Spikes Zuhause - Snoopys Bruder - in einen Kaktus zu verlegen.

See what we are up to in our winter vacation: I 8 NY - a giant wall painting from the comic Cheetahs Never Win by Steve Reeder - is shown in the exhibition WIR WOHNEN at Kunstraum Niederösterreich which opens January 14, 2010 at 7 p.m. at Herrengasse 13, 1010 Vienna. Show me where you live, and I‘ll tell you who you are! With these words curator Ingeborg Strobl is questioning the standard reception of the notion of home.
